SEPTEMBER SPECIALS!

SPECIALS & SEASONALS BEERS THIS MONTH:

Look for these beers on tap at your local East or West Bay pub or restaurant.

DRAKE'S A. M. WHEAT -- 6.0% ABV 20 IBU's -- This American Wheat is made with 40% Wheat malt in addition to the two-row barley and biscuit malt. It is dark yellow to light amber in color with a light and crisp flavor of wheat malt without the cloudiness normally associated with a wheat beer (because it is filtered) Very light bitterness, toasted almond, dry finish. The name comes from the fact that we mashed in at 6:30 am on the morning. You gotta get up pretty early in the morning in order to brew a great late Summer beer- Enjoy!

DRAKE'S GRAIN BRAIN ALE -- 11% ABV -- A Ryewine-style ale brewed similar to a barleywine ale but we used a HUGE malt bill of Rye malt and Two-Row barley. Peach-amber in color with an ivory foam head, a distinct rye flavor with citrus/malty tones sweet maple or molasses mouthfeel. Slight hop bitterness, with big, brash, and boozy ester flavors that will remind you of brandy or cognac, so beware! This stuff will go right to your brain. We suggest it be served in half pints.

DRAKE'S CHINOOKIAN ALE -- 7.5% ABV -- The tale of this beer comes straight out of the Northwest, where the legendary Cascadian Dark Ale-style (and controversy) was born back in the 1990's. Some call it a Dark IPA, others a Black IPA-you decide for yourself. We used two-row barley, Honey malt, caramalt, crystal malt for the base, and a combination of chocolate rye & chocolate malt for the color and roastiness. The hops were German Magnum, Cascade, and a ton of Chinooks. The flavor and mouthfeel is definately a roasty to sweet maltiness, with a noticeable hop bitterness reminiscent of an IPA. Medium carbonation, brownish white head with a slight opalescent black color.

DRAKE'S PALE RYDER -- 6% ABV 25 IBUs -- Exceptionally drinkable! This is an American Pale Rye ale that uses 30% Rye malt. It is straw to light golden in color with mild bitterness, crisp & refreshing with a dry finish. A welcomed late-Summer brew. The name was derived from the Clint Eastwood movie Pale Rider, in which he plays a mysterious, nameless preacher who appears out of nowhere to assist the local gold prospectors that are being targeted by a local landowner intent on getting the gold for himself.

...... and back by popular demand in mid-September, Aroma Prieta IPA!
